Rules

One FIE epee pool bout: 5 touches or 3 minutes, no draws. Blades, guards and bodies collide physically, and a touch is scored from the force of the point along the blade, like the electric apparatus. Distance, timing and parries decide the bout; it is the only direct-contact sport.

The two-mode protocol (Athlete and Engineer) remains a pilot.
